As a fresh CA, the average salary ranges from ₹4.5 lakh to ₹6 lakh per annum. According to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the average CA salary offered through campus placements has risen from ₹8 lakh to ₹11.50 lakh per annum in 2025.

Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG), PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC), Ernst & Young (EY), & Deloitte are the four well-known accounting organizations, also known as the Big 4. The salary offered by the big 4 for freshers CA salary per annum is INR 6-8 lakhs, and for those with experience of 4-5 years, CA salary per annum is INR 23 lakhs.

HUL (Hindustan Unilever), P&G (Procter & Gamble), MARICO, and RB (Reckitt Benckiser) are top MNCs. These companies need competent professionals to handle accounting and finance for them. Chartered accountant's salary starts at 18-25 lakh per annum in these companies. 

IT companies like TCS, Reliance Industries, Infosys, and Wipro, pay INR 8-10 lakhs CA salary to freshers and INR 40-60 lakhs CA salary to the experienced and skilled ones.

SALARY OF A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT IN BIG4 

Chartered Accountants' salaries in Big4 are influenced by factors such as experience and qualifications. Here's a breakdown of average salary ranges:

  • Entry-level (0-3 years): ₹6-10 lakhs per annum
  • Mid-level (4-7 years): ₹15-25 lakhs per annum
  • Senior-level (8+ years) : ₹50 lakhs+ per annum

Chartered accountants (CAs) can earn substantial salaries abroad. The salary depends on the country, experience, and the level of the position.

To practice as a chartered accountant in Canada, you must have a relevant degree and enroll in a training program approved by the Chartered Accountant Institute of your respective province. 

The average salary is CA$80,000. Depending on various factors, the salary can range from CA$61,000 to CA$106,000

  • For Freshers: Most companies offer a starting salary of around CA$60,000 per year. 
  • For Experienced: Experienced CAs can easily earn over CA€100,000 per year 

United Kingdom

The Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants (IICA) has an agreement with the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales), under which both countries recognise the qualifications of CAs from one another. It means CAs from India can work and practice in the UK without any restrictions or additional qualifications, and vice-versa. 

The average salary is £40,000. The salary offered would range from £32,500 to £55,275 depending on experience, location and job profile.

  • For Freshers: Most entry-level CA positions in the UK offer an earning potential of £32,000 to £35,000 per annum. 
  • For Experienced: Financial accountants with several years of experience can earn up to £60,000 per annum. 

United States

The salary can range from $60,000 to over USD 130,000 per year, depending on experience.

Saudi Arabia
